“You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.”
It’s easy to forget what God has done in our lives. We see Him do amazing things and then life distracts us and we quickly forget. In reality, God is always working. He is a living and active God, not sitting idly.
Scripture says “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us…” (Ephesians 3:20). He is powerful and He wants to be involved in our lives. Let me ask you this: When was the last time you invited God into your life?
Ideally, we would be inviting God into our lives daily. “Father, help me with this…” and “Thank God for that…” When we go to Him, we are trusting Him. When we go to other things like money, relationships, the bottle, etc… we are not trusting Him.
Think about it like this: God is patient and He is a gentleman. He is not going to force you to go to Him for help. However, He wants us to turn to Him because we were made for Him. He wants a deep and meaningful relationship with us.
So I want to challenge you and myself to let Him in daily. Don’t close off your life to Him, but invite Him into everything. Invite Him in to your work, your school, your marriage, and your parenting.
It’s an act of humility to bow before God and ask for His help. In doing so, we acknowledge that we cannot do it on our own. We need Him like we need air in our lungs.
Father God, we need you. We long for you. We cannot make it on our own. Help us to trust you and turn to you in everything. We believe that you are the God of miracles. Increase our faith and help us always remember the amazing things that you have done for us. We love you and invite you into our lives today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
