Pray without ceasing. –1 Thessalonians 5:17
Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints... –Ephesians 6:18
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
The Bible calls us to be people of prayer. To be "devoted to prayer" and to "pray without ceasing." What does it look like to be "devoted" to something? Can you and I honestly say that we are devoted to prayer? I know that I could definitely step up my prayer life.
To be "devoted" is to "give all or a large part of one's time or resources to a person, activity, or cause." (New Oxford American Dictionary)
Wow, prayer must really matter!
It may be time we re-evaluate our commitment to prayer and step up our prayer life. When we pray, things change; situations change, people change, and God moves. Let's do our best to rise to the occasion and be prayer warriors. We can do it!
Father God, help me to be a person of prayer. A person who comes to you regularly, all the time, every day, multiple times a day. Help me to default to going to you first instead of everything else in life. Help me to be a prayer warrior for you. In Jesus' name, amen!
