Today’s Verse:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” –1 Thessalonians 5:18
Today’s Encouragement:
There is something magical that happens when we stop, take a deep breath and recognize all that God has done in our lives. I want to encourage you to stop often and thank God for what He is doing in your life. Even for the things that we don’t see.
There are so many things to be thankful for: Did you wake up today? Are you breathing? God is good and He is for you. He gave you life and every single day of life is a blessing.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! –Psalm 100:4
One thing we know, God is always working on our behalf. We only see a small percentage of what He is doing. His plans for us are good, this we know. Let’s show our appreciation multiple times a day by going to Him in prayer, listing out our blessings, and recognizing that all good things are a gift from Him.
Scripture tells us that even our ability to work and produce wealth is from Him. So I pray we never allow ourselves to think what we have is from us alone. Not even close! God is the One who has given us life and each moment is a gift.
“But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:18
Today’s Prayer:
Father God, thank you for everything you have done in my life and are continuing to do. Thank you for the things I see and even the things I do not. Thank you for every blessing, every lesson, and every point of direction you give me. Help me to always keep a heart of thankfulness. Everything I have is from you. I’m eternally grateful. In Jesus' name, amen.
